Plagiarism Policy

Optimal Journal of Midwifery Research and Innovation (OJMRI) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that all published articles are original, ethical, and free from any form of plagiarism or academic misconduct. Plagiarism, in any form, is considered a serious violation of publication ethics and is not acceptable.

All submitted manuscripts to OJMRI will undergo plagiarism screening as part of the editorial review process before publication. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts contain original work and properly acknowledge all sources, ideas, data, concepts, and information obtained from other works.

Plagiarism Includes, but is Not Limited to:

  • Using words, sentences, paragraphs, data, figures, tables, ideas, concepts, theories, or information from other sources without appropriate citation and acknowledgment.
  • Copying or reproducing substantial parts of another author's work without proper attribution.
  • Using another person's ideas, opinions, interpretations, research findings, or theoretical frameworks without clearly identifying the original source.
  • Paraphrasing or rewriting information from other sources by changing words or sentence structures without providing appropriate references.
  • Submitting another person's work, previously published material, or someone else's research findings as the author's own manuscript.
  • Self-plagiarism, including reusing substantial parts of an author's previously published work without proper citation, disclosure, or permission.
  • Duplicate publication, where the same or substantially similar manuscript is submitted or published in more than one journal.

Plagiarism Prevention

Optimal Journal of Midwifery Research and Innovation (OJMRI) applies plagiarism screening procedures to all submitted manuscripts using plagiarism detection software before the peer-review or publication process.

The journal requires authors to maintain an acceptable level of similarity and ensure that all sources are properly cited. Manuscripts with excessive similarity or indications of plagiarism will be returned to authors for revision or may be rejected.

The Editorial Team reserves the right to evaluate similarity reports and determine appropriate actions based on the severity and nature of the detected issue.

Sanctions for Plagiarism

If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified during the submission, review, or post-publication process, OJMRI may take appropriate actions, including:

  1. Requesting authors to revise and properly acknowledge the sources.
  2. Issuing a warning letter to the authors.
  3. Rejecting the submitted manuscript.
  4. Withdrawing or retracting published articles.
  5. Reporting serious cases of academic misconduct to the relevant authors’ institutions or authorities when necessary.

All plagiarism-related cases will be handled according to ethical publication principles and applicable guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
